On October 14, 2018, the opening ceremony of TusStar Alliance-BUE Business Incubator was held in Cairo, Egypt. This is the first allied incubation base for TusStar in Africa. Mohamed Farid Khamis, Chairman of the Board Trustees of British University in Egypt(BUE), Ahmed Hamad, President of BUE, Yehia Bahel-ElDin, Vice President of BUE, Chen Hongbo, Executive Vice President of TusHoldings, Liu Xueliang, Deputy General Manager of TusStar, and 200 people from China and Egypt attended the opening ceremony.

For opening, Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BUE, expressed his congratulations. In his speech, he used two “most” to describe the significance of the University Science Park and his cooperation with TUS: Building and Operating the University Science Park and Incubator are the biggest contributions of BUE to Egypt's social progress and economic development. TusHoldings and TusStar are the ideal partners from China for BUE to build and operate a university science park and incubator. Mr. Farid Khamis Khamis said that with the support and help of TUS, BUE is confident enough to build and operate the University Science Park as the most successful and influential science park in Egypt and North Africa.

Chen Hongbo, executive vice president of TusHoldings, recalled the cooperation between TUS and BUE in his speech and highly praised the pragmatic and efficiency of the university. He said that for more than two years, it was a great honour to witness and participate in the process from the initial idea to the completion of the incubator. In the following keynote speech, Chen Hongbo shared the experience of China in the field of science and technology parks, the important role of science parks and incubators in social and economic development, and introduced the business development model of TusHoldings. “When you talk with the BUE incubator, you can feel the passion and expectation of young entrepreneurs in Egypt and the desire for success. We have reasons to believe that BUE Science Park will become the most successful cooperation of BUE and TUS. " Chen Hongbo stressed.

Ahmed Hamad, president of BUE, said in his speech that although BUE is a young university, in recent years, it has been committed to promoting cooperation between industry, academia and research. From the already completed incubator, to the technology park that will be put into use at the end of the year, and the BUE Industrial Park still under planning, it will provide full-cycle services for the transformation of scientific research and interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary cooperation. Ahmed Hamad is particularly grateful to TusHoldings and TusStar for their participation in these links, as well as all-round consultation and assistance in the fields of planning, construction, management and operation of the Science Park and incubator. Unveiling
Subsequently, under the joint witness of Mr. Mohamed Farid Khamis, and Mr. Chen Hongbo, and the representatives from China and Egypt, Liu Xueliang, Deputy General Manager of TusStar, and Ahmed Saleh, General Manager of BUE Science Park, jointly unveiled the plague of the incubator.
Egypt is an important country along the “Belt and Road”. The opening of the Enlightenment Star (Cairo) has added an important node to the innovative layout of the Enlightenment Star along the Belt and Road. Inspired by local innovation and entrepreneurship factors, Enlightenment Star (Cairo) will also promote international cooperation in the Belt and Road through linkage with other bases in the Enlightenment Incubation Network.
BUE is short for the British University in Egypt. It was initiated by the MOU signed by the British and Egyptian governments in 1998. It aims to train graduates in the UK and talents in key fields such as engineering, IT and business. The school was established in 2005 and began to enroll students in September of the same year. At present, BUE has more than 11,000 students, and has 10 colleges including AEPS, engineering, computer system foundation, dentist, nursing, law, humanities and arts. The engineering college and the dentistry nursing college are the largest colleges with 3,000 students. The remaining people account for 1/3 of the total number of students. BUE is both a comprehensive university and the top private university in Egypt.
